Counseling for Teen Girls
Adolescence can be a time of growth, discovery, and change, but it can also feel overwhelming and confusing. Many teen girls today are navigating intense emotional, social, and academic pressures, often while still learning how to understand themselves and their place in the world.
At Her Journey Counseling, I offer a supportive, nonjudgmental space where teen girls can feel safe being themselves, without pressure to have everything figured out. Therapy is a place where they can talk openly, build confidence, and develop the tools they need to handle life’s challenges with more ease.
I work with teen girls experiencing a variety of concerns, including anxiety, school stress, and perfectionism. Many feel pressure to succeed academically or socially, leading to burnout, self-doubt, or constant worry. Others may be struggling with friendships, feeling left out, misunderstood, or unsure how to navigate changing social dynamics.
Self-esteem and identity are also a big part of this stage of life. Therapy can help teens build a stronger sense of self, develop confidence, and learn to manage negative thoughts or comparison. I also support teens working through family conflict, improving communication, and finding healthy ways to express their emotions.
As teen girls begin exploring dating and early relationships, they may need guidance around boundaries, self-worth, and recognizing healthy versus unhealthy dynamics. Additionally, life transitions—such as moving, changing schools, or shifts within the family—can bring stress and uncertainty that therapy can help process.
In our work together, I use age-appropriate, evidence-based approaches to help teen girls feel heard, understood, and empowered. My goal is to help them build resilience, strengthen emotional awareness, and develop lifelong coping skills in a space that feels safe and encouraging.
